Sydney audiences will once again welcome Oprah Winfrey this December, as the television icon returns for the first time in ten years to headline her Oprah In Conversation tour. The highly anticipated event will open its Australian leg at the ICC Sydney Theatre on Thursday, 4 December, offering fans an evening of reflection, storytelling and inspiration.

The visit marks a new chapter in Winfrey’s long relationship with Australia. Many still recall her headline-making 2010 trip, when she famously brought hundreds of audience members along for her “Ultimate Australian Adventure.”

Five years later, she closed her 2015 tour at Qudos Bank Arena with an evening that drew thousands eager to hear her speak. Now, the ICC Sydney Theatre will set the stage for her latest return, bringing her message of resilience and purpose to the heart of the city.

Organisers describe the evening as a rare opportunity to hear firsthand from one of the world’s most recognisable cultural figures. The program will be structured as a moderated conversation, allowing Winfrey to share personal reflections from her decades-long career as a broadcaster, businesswoman, and philanthropist.

Themes are expected to range from the value of authenticity to the lessons found in navigating life’s challenges, with the goal of inspiring audiences to reflect on their own paths.

Winfrey has said she looks forward to reconnecting with audiences in Australia and New Zealand, where she has always felt a deep warmth and energy. She noted that these events are less about performance and more about genuine, honest exchange—moments where ideas and stories can spark new ways of thinking about what is possible in life.

For Sydney, the timing feels particularly significant. The ICC Theatre, with its central Darling Harbour location, provides an intimate yet world-class stage for a global figure whose influence continues to resonate across generations. It is expected to be one of the most sought-after tickets of the summer, as audiences seize the chance to share an evening with a woman whose journey from small-town beginnings to global prominence has inspired millions.

From Sydney, the tour will continue to Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne, before concluding in Auckland on 14 December. But for many Australians, it will be the Sydney opening night—set against the backdrop of the city’s sparkling harbour—that represents the true highlight: Oprah Winfrey, once again in conversation with those who have followed and admired her for decades.
